About Blueberry
Blueberry was the life's work of DJ Short, a breeder from Oregon who spent over a decade selecting for a specific terpene profile — blueberry — from crosses of Thai, Afghani, and Purple Thai genetics. The result was the first strain to consistently express a sweet, fruity blueberry aroma and flavor, which was entirely unique at the time. Blueberry also produced vivid purple hues in its buds when grown in cooler temperatures, making it as beautiful as it was aromatic. The strain has three distinct phenotypes: the original Sativa pheno (tall, longer flowering), the Indica pheno (shorter, faster flowering), and the fruity 'True Blue' pheno. Blueberry won the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2000.

History
DJ Short began his breeding work in the 1970s in Oregon, collecting the best landrace genetics he could find. He worked with a Blueberry male he selected over years of breeding, crossing it into various lines. The famous 'Blueberry' strain emerged from his work with Thai, Afghani, and Purple Thai lines. DJ Short moved to the Netherlands in the early 1990s, bringing his genetics with him. He worked with Dutch Passion to release Blueberry commercially. The strain became a global phenomenon and won the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2000. DJ Short's Flo (another of his creations) and Blueberry are among the most celebrated American-bred strains of all time.
